The Starry Night painted in by Vincent van Gogh is a classic example of how a dark night sky inspires creativity. Until recently, for all of human history, our ancestors experienced a sky brimming with stars — a night sky that inspired science, religion, philosophy, literature and art.
Enjoy these beautiful pieces of art inspired by starry night skies and learn how you can help inspire future generation to invent, create and dream. During this period, Western civilization advanced significantly in its understanding of the natural world. The Renaissance night sky was clear and free of the later influence of electric light, still centuries in the future. In the two centuries after the Renaissance, an Age of Enlightenment began in Europe.
Led by intellectuals and emphasizing reason and individualism rather than tradition, the Enlightenment saw the influence of science and exploration grow by leaps and bounds. The night sky continued to inspire awe, but brought a healthy dose of inquiry and skepticism.
Here, the Dutch painter Verschuier depicts a crowd in Rotterdam gazing at Comet Kirch, a very bright comet that appeared near the Sun in December of They wonder at the sky, but they do not evidently fear it. A similar view of Rotterdam today might also show an orange sky on account of skyglow from light pollution. Would residents of modern Rotterdam still turn out for a view like this?
Artist unknown but attributed to Philipp Florinus von Pfalz- Sulzbach Beginning in the 17th century, astronomers turned telescopes on the pristine night skies over Europe for the first time, making observations of previously unseen celestial phenomena.
Their work literally moved heaven and Earth, putting to rest old ideas that held Earth at the center of an unchanging universe above. Unhindered by light pollution, scientists of the day could easily conduct astronomical research from the largest population centers in Europe.
Modern astronomers now have to travel far from civilization — including space — to gain access to the same night skies. The phenomena of the night sky remained an occasional subject of artists well into the 19th century, on some occasions inspired by actual historic events. Whitman made his observation of the meteor of in or near New York City. The night sky was a favorite subject for Vincent van Gogh, perhaps the most well known of the Impressionists of the late 19th century.
His paintings of nightscapes emphasize his impressions of the colors of the night sky and of the artificial outdoor lighting that was new to his times. What palette of colors would van Gogh choose to represent the present-day light-polluted sky over the Rhone?
As the 19th century drew to a close, increasing numbers of fine artists rejected the realism of the Renaissance and Enlightenment in favor of more expressive styles. Color, tone and mood were valued over literal depictions of real or imagined people and places. Munch cherished darkness, while van Gogh sought out the reflections of early artificial city lights.
Where might Munch now have to travel to paint dark skies? The American West has inspired generations of artists with its wild and undeveloped characteristics. She had to seek them out closer to nature itself in the West. The experience of standing beneath a night sky unmarred by the glow of artificial light was once commonplace.
Young and old, rich and poor alike, in all corners of the world shared the wonder and awe of the night sky. But the future of night is now threatened. Fortunately, light pollution is easily reversible. You can make a real and immediate difference by …. Like this post?

Where do you read the latest chapters of potn? Hi dear! I read it on Lezhin Korea. I just read that you follow painter of the night. What do you think about it? And I so want to see na-kyum happy at the end. It took me a while to check out Painter of the Night. What I love the most about the comic probably is the art. The facial expressions especially impress me. I mean:. Na-kyum and Seungho will fall in love with each other in the end.
Na-kyum has started to become conscious of Seungho, and Seungho has started to show concern for Na-kyum. And look, I know how all of that sounds. But those kinda stories have a huge audience. Poor bb NK gets hurt for the billionth time rip and maybe we get to see Seungho showing him some compassion le gasp. Seungho getting wind of the plot before poor bb gets hurt and someone prolly Jihwa gets done in sigh his face is too pretty for this tho :c. Also on that note, why tf is Jihwa so obsessed with Seungho anyways?
Somehow the assassin does not hurt NK? I mean I doubt that a paid mercenary would have a change of heart but who knows? Or maybe the assassin gets a better deal from the inside and lies about actually completing the job. Okay this last scenario is just me dreaming a situation that can kill 2 birds with one stone.
Maybe the assassin mistakes someone else for NK and kills the wrong person. So, someone is jealous, sad and triggered so…. He did that because his gang told him to do so. My Korean is not good but from what I gathered, Byeonduck is interested in drawing role reversal or modern versions if there is time above is the backside picture of modern Nakyum and Seungho.
When asked whether Byeonduck likes Insun or Seungho more she said Seungho, because Insuns are everywhere in this world but Seunghos are usually in prison lol. Still thinking a lot about this manhwa though spoilers ahead. Like as much of a hot mess as Seungho is, with the dynamic they have currently, I just cannot see Seungho and Nakyum having a lasting relationship.
As long as Seungho does not respect Nakyum as a person, he will not only continue to hurt Nakyum, but realistically the relationship between them will not progress and will not last. Even though my illogical romantic heart would like Nakyum to develop feelings for Seungho, I feel like that happening at this moment would be a big injustice for Nakyum.
Nakyum needs to grow more confident in himself first.Player Reborn Metropolitan System Tower of God Kimetsu no Yaiba Tales of Demons and Gods Martial Peak Boku no Hero Academia Today Manga. Hakka Shoujo just now 26 - Wreath of Flowers.

When almost college dropout Jensen attempts to drink away his problems, unemployed Nathaniel suddenly pukes on him and ruins his night. As an apology, Nathaniel offers to help Jensen with his studies. Path to You seems like a super slow build. The thing is, the circumstances of the characters, their pressures, and emotional baggage hit a little too close to home to the point where it makes me feel uncomfortable.
Not to be taken as you know, some trigger warnings and all that. On the surface, I have a hard time relating to the characters. Jensen is too indifferent, Nathaniel too flimsy. While I do relate to their problems, I find Nathaniel easier to like than Jensen. The latter is just too much of a yes-man he frustrates me.
He keeps on being pushed around. I have trouble differentiating Jensen and Nathaniel. I think the latter has a darker shade? And no, the parting of their hairs are not that distinguishable either. Painter of the Night Chapter 36
This had me reeling right from the very start! I just love how erotic and twisted this is. Too bad there are only a handful of chapters available yet. And it also seems like the one from the Lezhin Korea is only 2 chapters ahead so this is still a work in progress in all versions which is a shame.
7 Pieces of Art Inspired by the Night Sky
I want to know when the two of them will hook up. Because the seme appears to be an asshole and will be hard-pressed to fall in love. He is also very prideful so there is their social standing keeping them from each other too.
And it seems like the fuck buddies of the seme are all jealous bitches. So many hurdles! I love them and how opposite they are. Seungho is so mental though, such a sex fiend and a vicious man. Meanwhile, Na-kyum is the perverted virgin who is also a starving artist. Unless the creator will throw a curveball on us and give a bad end. I love it! The art is freaking gorgeous! He has no-one to turn to but his work rival, Taehan — but thankfully, Taehan is more than man enough to help him out.
But Love Shuttle is interesting for having an irregular Omega — someone who has late heat and looks a lot like an Alpha. One of the reasons I enjoy this is because of Doyun. He is such an adorable uke, sweet and tempting, something no one could have guessed at first glance.
He is such a freaking tsundere too. He never left Doyun even on times when he could have ignored Doyun.Remember Me. Lost your password? Log in Lost your password?
